About You:

You are a university undergraduate or postgraduate student. You are looking for a rewarding and flexible job that pays great market rates for both undergraduates and postgraduates (up to $60 an hour for postgraduate students). You are passionate about making sure your students achieve their full potential. 


Prior tutoring experience is highly desirable not essential. What is most important is that you are a clear and enthusiastic communicator with a good grasp of the subject matter. We will supplement that knowledge with our own teaching materials.


We are looking for candidates who are familiar with the Selective Schools Thinking Skills curriculum and/or have experience tutoring in the subject area. 


Criteria include:

  • If graduate - a degree in primary teaching or a degree majoring in a relevant subject area with a distinction average
  • If undergraduate:
    • an ATAR above 90
    • a Band 6 or E4 in English or Maths

We have top of the line resources and learning technology, and a space created with the comfort of our students in mind including study spaces, a common room and a kitchen as well as a modern open plan office for staff. 


At Dymocks Tutoring our students are our main priority and we regularly require student feedback, making sure our services meet student demands. We take student feedback seriously and have built a model of tutoring around continuous improvement. 


Hours of work:

Rates of Pay:

  • $29 - $40/hour for undergraduates
  • $45 per hour for graduates
  • $60 per hour for NESA accredited teachers
  • $60+ per hour for PhD

Right to Work in Australia:

You must have the right to work in Australia and provide evidence of this to us.

  3. Your transcripts. This would include university transcripts (if applicable) as well as ATAR/UAI and HSC Results (if completed in the last 10 years). Please note that if you are not a university graduate we will require evidence of HSC and ATAR. Evidence means the provision of the ATAR Notice and the HSC Transcript. We cannot accept an email telling us what your mark is although we can accept screen grabs of the email or text from NESA and UAC for the HSC and ATAR (respectively).
  4. You DO NOT need to apply for multiple roles. Only apply for ONE role and mark, on the Application Form, whether you are prepared to tutor in other subjects. The only exception to this is if you also want to work in our support team in which case apply ONCE in a tutor role and ALSO in the support role.
