A Dymocks' Education company, Dymocks Training is looking to enter the Vocational Education and Training  (VET) vocational education market. This is a casual contractor position with candidates having the opportunity to pick the courses that they teach from our scheduled workshop. We are at the early stages of our journey so our workshop will be ad hoc, as we grow workshops will be more consistent and we are looking for trainers willing to patiently see the journey through with us. 

About You:

You are an enthusiastic trainer and assessor who loves to push the envelope for the benefit of students. You are looking for a role with an organisation that you can play a large part in developing and being rewarded for your efforts. 

Your duties will include:

- Conduct training and assessment on site and off-site

- Participate in feedback collection and continuous improvement

- Assist in the development of learning materials including exploring new ways of delivering materials and assessment

- General administration and record keeping consistent with vocational education legal and best practice requirements

Prior experience in training and assessment support is desirable but not essential depending on the candidate. What is most important is that you are a clear and enthusiastic communicator.

Skills and knowledge

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Strong and recent industry experience in Business responding to first aid incidents including a sound knowledge of current industry workplace practices.

- Current Training and assessment skills.

- Thorough knowledge of the HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting units  HLTAID009 (Provide CPR), HLTAID011 (Provide First Aid) 

- Sound report-writing skills.

- A strong customer focus.

- Commitment to quality education, Classroom based training and the training reform agenda.

- Strong team skills and a commitment to working to develop and support a team based learning culture.

- Understanding of and a commitment to the VET Quality Framework and the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (2015).

- A high level of proficiency using Learner Management Software (LMS)  office productivity software

- Good written communication skills and a high degree of attention to detail

- You will have or need to obtain a current Working with Children Check or equivalent

- Genuine, friendly, vibrant and welcoming personality

- Excellent time management and organisational skills

Qualifications

- A relevant, industry approved Business Leadership qualification equivalent to AQF Level 4

- All First Aid units of competency as shown above

- Must hold as a minimum either TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent or Diploma or higher qualification in adult education

- Additionally, you will be required to meet the following criteria:
- Current and relevant professional development (PD) log as well as planned PD activities for the next 12 months. This will encompass both TAE/VET and relevant to First Aid
- Be able to map both experience and units of competencies held to a Trainer Matrix
- Be able to demonstrate vocational currency in First Aid, which can be working with a volunteer organisation or professionally
- Be able to demonstrate currency and experience in frontline training and assessment in the VET sector


Hours and Remuneration:


This is a casual role with an expected pay of $500 a session for HTLAID011 or HTLAID012,
 $200 per session for HTLAID009. 

Expected 8 hour days. Subject to change.


If you are able to supply your own first aid equipment If you have your own kit - additional $50 a day.


It will also be a requirement that you be listed on our application to ASQA as the appropriate trainer.

About Us:

At Dymocks Training is a new division of Dymocks Education. Dymocks Education has traded for 3 years in the Primary and High School tutoring environment and in that time has experienced significant growth. We are now looking to expand our educational activities to adult education.

5. Current professional development (PD) log and and planned activities for the next 12 months, covering both TAE/VET and First Aid
6. Evidence of vocational (First Aid) and training currency



Once you have been selected as a successful candidate, documentation will have to be completed on Dymocks provided templates and information verified.

Screening of applications

1. Video screening: for applications passing through the resume screening, a requirement for a recorded video introduction in which you speak for 3 minutes (max) explaining why you would like the role and why you are a perfect candidate
2. For candidates that pass through the video screening, an in-person interview by video conference.
